Re: World Trade Center Fire Alarm System History

Thanks for the information. And another bonus, this is an audio clip of one of the alarms sounding during 9/11 which sounds very creepy and hopefully somebody on the forum could be able to identify it: Those are the alarms from 7WTC, which sounded throughout the building. Interestingly, I've seen a...

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

I've been meaning to post this for a while. So, the office that I have been working at this summer is inside a three-story office building constructed in the late '90's. It seems like every floor has a slightly different setup. I will mention first that the panel is a Notifier NFS-320 or something a...

Re: World Trade Center Fire Alarm System History

Today, RSSAlarms sent me an interesting question pertaining to this topic. He asked me the following: You did mention that the old Cerberus pyrotronics at the old WTC system had SS70 speaker strobes, however I have no idea what they look like and I wanted to ask you if you have any pictures or docum...

I'm back

Hello everyone, Well, two years ago, I made this post explaining that I would be taking a leave of absence while I served a mission in Spain for the LDS church. I've been back home now in Colorado for about a week. It was an incredible experience! It was very hard, but the most worth it thing that I...

Re: Goodbye, just for a bit...

OH AND TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES! :D From what I understand, Chris, the whole point of a mission is to spread the word of God - it's not a vacation trip. I don't even think phones or cameras are allowed. At least, not according to one of my fellow LDS friends, who's on his mission now. Haven't heard a ...

Goodbye, just for a bit...

When I joined the fire alarm community in 2008 at the age of 10, I never imagined myself having an established YouTube channel with hundreds of videos and the thousands of subscribers that I do now. I never saw myself amassing a collection of several hundred devices and building online services that...

Re: Did any of the schools you went to use actual mechanical bells for the bell?

None of my schools growing up had class change bells at all. Elementary and middle school had tones play over the intercom at the start and end of the day, nothing at all in high school. All of the buildings at my college do have either bells or chimes that go off at :50 and then at the top of the h...

Re: Can't post pictures??

As ccs46 already suggested, the best way to share pictures to the forums for the time being would be uploading to imgur . It only takes a few clicks to upload pictures and you don't need an account. After you upload a picture, all you have to do next is just copy and paste the BBcode into your post....

Re: URL: U8oL0's Fire Alarm Collection

Just finished revamping my fire alarm collection website, http://firealarms.tv/collection/ . This includes: - Adding every device in my collection to the website -- it is now 100% up to date - Taking new photos of every device in my collection, or around 3,000 new photos - All of these 3,000 photos ...

Re: Simplex 4904-9340

I've even seen Simplex use Wheelock devices in instances where they weren't even necessary to use over Simplex's own devices. This was quite a while ago, but I saw a brand new Simplex 4100U install with all Wheelock speaker/strobes as building's notification appliances.
