Re: 4007ES power supply

There should be a factory installed terminal block to the right of the NAC/Power Supply board that brings out the AC connections from the board.

Re: The dream that I had last night involving fire alarms

It's been inactive for years, let it die.

We don't expect users to search the forums before every post to see if there's an old topic. If the topic is so far out of date that it's not on the first page, then new topics are understandable.

Re: Use of Auditorium as Shelter

Generally you avoid areas with large ceiling spans, like gyms or auditoriums. It's a pretty weak point in the grand scope of things.

Re: FCI MS-2 Question

On a standard BG-12, it doesn't really matter either. I know they use red and black wires, but at the end of the day a switch is just a switch.

Re: New System Sensor Addressable Wireless A/V Devices

I'm fairly certain the 754 minutes is in regards to the battery life on the wireless unit when activated, not the life of the device.

Re: FCI MS-2 Question

A pull station is just a switch - there is no positive or negative terminal. One wire in and one wire out, and you should be good.

The switch just makes or breaks the circuit. There is nothing else going on which would require polarity to be considered.

Re: Strange fire alarm upgrade at the local Aldi storr

I'd venture to guess that the new devices may be installed up in the ceiling rafters now that the drop ceiling is gone. Especially if they are white, they can be VERY hard to find.

Re: What are some things that the General Public misconceives about Fire Alarms that drive you crazy?

The fact that people still believe one sprinkler head activates them all is still a very common misconception. That's fine and all, the frustration for me comes from the fact that most people won't give you the time of day for an explanations and would rather just believe their original thoughts.

Re: Fire, Inclement Weather, Lockdown, and Other Disaster Prevention Drills for the 2018-2019 School Year

So it is basically a lock down drill then. OK. That is good to know. ALICE actually throws the idea of lockdown out the window. It's interesting to read up on, and I've helped organize and run several training sessions with campus public safety the past two years - it advocates a much more active r...
