Re: Did the schools you go to have sprinklers?

Usually they're hidden in the ceiling behind the hanging tiles. Its that way at my HS, except in the science lab... That one has explosion proof heads hanging from pipes.

I hope those never have to be testing for their explosion resistance rating...

Re: Pull stations with the key inserted in buildings.

I don't recall seeing any pull stations like that, but I have seen panels with keys in them. They recently built a Lowes near me, and in the main entrance, there is a Mircom annunciator or main panel, and there is a key right in it, which is a big no no. They also do this at my work, which is still...

Re: Ugliest NA's

For older devices, I think the ADA Mass is the ugliest. Also, any Space Age AV32 on a backbox. For today's devices, I think the Simplex Truealert speaker strobes are too ugly. Honestly I thought the 4903 series speakers looked better. I'll agree. The massive clear strobe is ugly as crap on that thi...

Re: White Siemens horn/strobe with a cover on it.

In the restroom of a grocery store in my area that just opened, there is a white Siemens horn/strobe with a translucent cover on it that says something like "remove after installation" or something. However the cover was never removed. It's still on the NA. Would this be the Publix that just opened...

Identify a "Rare?" Alarm i found...

So I wrote Edwards CS. And I'm pleasantly surprised they responded! Image

From what it looks like, someone went to a lot of trouble to modify that strobe to fit that horn.

Re: Two types of California Code

That's odd, I'll have to see what my 4002 does on California code. I know the 4002 has 3 options for it though as seen on the DIP switch chart I have linked. https://i.imgur.com/YryiCg7.jpg Sorry if image is huge, can't edit on my phone. Will see what my panel does some time tomorrow. Does that mea...

Re: Whatever happened to The Fire Panel Wiki?

I wasn't a Staff Member back when the Wiki was around, so I'm not sure exactly why it was shut down, but I seem to recall that the place was overrun by spam and malicious edits. The staff at the time worked very hard to keep the Wiki presentable to the everyday users, but when you looked at the edi...
