Re: new Edwards EST-4 panel
I too like the sleek design, even better than the newer Simplex panels design. Interesting to see more companies come out with a sleek design like this for a fire panel.

Re: What is your favorite soda pool
Lately, I haven't been a huge soda drinker. However, if I were to pick, I would say Dr. Pepper. It's been my favorite for around 11 years now.

Re: New Edwards alarms !
Honestly these Genesi remind me of those weird Amseco horn/strobes that nobody knows exist. Now that I take a look at it, I totally agree with you that they do look similar to the Ameseco units, which as a result has an even more streamlined and sleek appearance! It's too bad that there is no "runn...

Huh...I never thought of the Alertus system, I remember one of my community college had a system installed sometime after I had left.TheAlmightyZach wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 7:00 pmLeaning towards Alertus as it integrates with our current system.

Re: Adding Mass Notification to old, mixture of systems.
Texts that we need to manually sign up for, we are not automatically enrolled. The lack of mass notification here is pretty scary for a south side city school. I want to at least suggest a solution with my concerns. Geez...that's it?! It's even more shocking how these text messages are optional in ...

Re: HenBasket’s Dormitory Evacuations!
You would think it would be the same couple of suites setting it off. It would be interesting to see in the future if there's repeat offenders. Seems like when one person accidentally sets it off, they (hopefully) learn from the mistake.

Re: HenBasket’s Dormitory Evacuations!
Should I even bother anymore? I'd say keep the videos going, your reactions are hilarious. I can certainly relate, especially with your reaction at the beginning of this one. I would be THAT angry (and probably using the same words you said) if the fire alarm kept going off in my dorm that much, it...

Re: I'm so old I remember when...
I still remember a lot of things that were previously mentioned in this thread. However, here's a few interesting things to still note (some of these may be similar to what has previously been listed on this thread): VHS Tapes were still popular for watching movies and other pre-recorded content. Wi...

Re: HenBasket’s Dormitory Evacuations!
While the system works, I did notice one deficiency: the fire door in my suite’s hallway doesn’t automatically release. Other than that, it’s good. That's certainly something that should be fixed at some point. I wonder if something isn't wired or configured correctly for the door not to close (bas...

Re: HenBasket’s Dormitory Evacuations!
I think I jinxed it… Two days in a row this week?! Geez...never even had that happen in my dorming experiences. Supposedly there was a time where they were set off two times in one night (though I was not present for that). While it's great to see the system is doing its job, something is seriously...

Re: HenBasket’s Dormitory Evacuations!
I thought while I was away at college for a few years, my dorm was bad with fire alarms. Like you had mentioned in the first post of this topic, the alarms in my dorm were usually caused by people who didn't know how to cook, mostly by failing to follow simple directions (prime example; burning some...

Outside of the enthusiast community, I don't tell too many people about my collection and/or interest...maybe 2-5 people know.

The irony is interesting, but still sad though. Sounded like a pretty cool collection. Welcome back to the world of fire alarms!
