My new apartment in Lake Mary (Colonial Grand Heathrow) has a Silent Knight system in the clubhouse with Gentex Commander 2 horn/strobes and strobes inside. On the back patio however, there is a Wheelock ASWP ceiling mounted. Pulls are RSG T-Bars, and I believe there are SD505P smokes and unknown he...

Re: What is the oldest system you have seen in operation?

I've seen an older Faraday system from the 1970s controlled off a Autocall CL series panel at my third elementary school. With the exception of building 12, pulls were originally a mix of 4521-20s and some sort of older Faraday pulls from the late 70s early 80s before they were all replaced with FCI...

Re: Popular Fire Alarm Brands in Your Area

Autocall is more common in 1990s era construction, particularly schools. EST Genesis and Integrity signals are becoming more common in some parts of the county. I don't know about Autocall, because it looked like they possibly fell from the face of this planet in the 1990s, if not some time before!...

Re: Popular Fire Alarm Brands in Your Area

The main brands in my area include Autocall (specifically the CL, and TFX series), Notifier, and EST. Autocall is more common in 1990s era construction, particularly schools. There are a few Simplex systems in my area, including at Volusia Mall! As for N/As, Gentex and System Sensor seems pretty com...

Re: how often do you do emergency drills?

[*]Pre-K (1998-2001): I remember doing fire drills once a month, and at least 1-2 tornado drills per year; at both Edgewater and Indian River Elementary Schools. Fire drills were done at varying intervals, usually I remember most of our fire drills were done in the mornings. [*]Kindergarten & First ...

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

UPDATE - Looks Spruce Creek Elementary will be getting a new Notifier NFS-320 fire alarm system this summer! Building 13 has an NFS-320 system in it, tied into the current panel (which if I'm not mistaken is probably a late 1980s Autocall panel, or an NFS-3030, replacing a Faraday panel original to ...

Did you just see the one?
Yes, just that one on the first floor. Not sure about others.
