They were used at the Int'l airport in Houston, last time I went in 2017.

Re: What washing machine do you own

We have a matching Samsung HE washer and dryer pair (model numbers not on hand at the moment). Purchased in 2011, both still working fine. The only time they've messed up or not worked correctly, to my knowledge, was a case of user error (wrong setting) that caused the washer to think it was overfi...

Re: What washing machine do you own

My dad bought a Samsung WF45R6300AW for mom's home in Mexico. On the second load, it stuggled on the final spin. I had to redistribute but it still wouldn't spin until the next day. Our washer was, as a result, full of water, as I tried to run the rinse and spin cycle to try to even things out. At t...

Which came first? The 9833 (rebranded Faraday horn) or the 9806 (rebranded Federal Signal horn)?
A: I'm guessing that the 9833 came first, around 1978.

Re: Fire Alarm Sound Samples Needed!

Hey everyone! I am working on a science fair on what fire alarm sounds work best to evacuate building occupants. In order for me to answer my question, I need help collecting fire alarm sound samples. The following sounds are needed (specific brand names are not required unless given below): A high...

Re: What is the loudest fire alarm you've heard?

The rules are different in Canada than they are in the US so they don't have to follow the same regulations when it comes to installing them because of different requirements. For example, buildings in Canada I don't think need strobes and if a building is renovated, I don't think the system has to...

There are internal design differences.
Other than that of the strobe?

Re: The "Mysterious" 2901-9838!

I just checked my 4901-9805, and it also carries the date 09/07/94. Because it is etched in as a trace on the circuit board rather than silk-screened, this is likely the date that this particular circuit board design was last revised. Also, I noticed that this horn has the connection pegs for a rec...

Re: The "Mysterious" 2901-9838!

So my original guess could've be correct? Wow, fascinating! I could see these "silver-grill'd" -9838s being on -9105 strobe plates. Because usually the orignal "black-grill'd" -9838s were mounted on -9101 strobes plates as opposed to the -9105 strobe plates (unless it was a renovation or something ...

The first video had the horn sound like a 450D. The second video had a horn in the background sound like a DC Adapt-A-Horn. It's not just the pitch, it's the overall waveform of the sound.
