They’re probably door alarms.

Re: World Trade Center Fire Alarm System History

Thanks for the information. And another bonus, this is an audio clip of one of the alarms sounding during 9/11 which sounds very creepy and hopefully somebody on the forum could be able to identify it: Those are the alarms from 7WTC, which sounded throughout the building. That’s an older “Firecom 8...

Copper Notification has a line of Hi-Fi speakers (300 to 8000 Hz), what's the appropriate use of those?
For places where a typical fire alarm speaker would be hard to understand (like rooms with a significant echo).

Re: Real fire alarm stories

November 2009: I think was in math class, around 1:30 PM, when (cue this clip) the fire alarm suddenly went off. (it's a Simplex 4100 system with TrueAlert speaker/strobes.) Everyone went outside as usual and met up in the ballfields outside. Around 2 minutes later, the Fire Dept. showed up, which ...

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

Sorry, I don’t collect fire alarms, I’m just interested. Secondly, there are some areas (for instance, the enterence, the pool, and the gym) that still don’t have them, but visable backbox holes are seen. Then the new system is probably still being finished up, so the old system is (hopefully) stil...

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

I have no idea if they’re ridding the old Simplex fire alarms, as some have been replaced by wall-mounted SETs. Siemens smoke detectors and pull stations were also installed around, so this has to be tied in with the original FireFinder XLS. If that’s the case I might see speakers and speaker/strob...

There are no weatherproof versions of many NA lines, specially newer ones like the EST Genesis
The Genesis has a weatherproof version. It’s called the “WG4” series.

Why do the outdoor signals look like indoor signals except for the fact that they have a backbox? I could easily buy a regular signal as well as a weatherproof backbox to install.
There are internal design differences.

Yea... have you guys ever come across a system with pulls or smokes but no NAs?
Yes, but it also had remote strobes.
To be clear, the systems had remote strobes in areas covered by the paging system. Areas not covered by the paging system had speaker/strobes.

Nothing is seen, but what is heard is a Honeywell FS90 system! (and also the new Notifier/Honeywell system, since the system was in the process of being upgraded at that time.)

The -9817 has "Simplex" in a font: either, IIRC, Eras ITC, Calibri, or Segoe UI.
I’m pretty sure the font is Frutiger.
