Re: Daily Fire Alarm Question!

A: I am guessing Parkland or another school shooting. Q: Are you allowed to have white pull stations? It was indeed parkland, an electrician told me about it. NFPA Code changed after the shooting because the shooter pulled the fire alarm to lure more victims and cause mass panic. Only one supervise...

First-Time Fire Alarm Stories

Anyone remember what you were doing the first time you got to hear a particular type of fire alarm? I’ve got a few: September 2009 - Country School, Weston, MA What went off: Simplex 4100 system with TrueAlert speaker/strobes, speakers, and strobes. The story: Me and the rest of the class were in th...

Hrm well I guess I was mistaken then. Really speaking, there is very little about which is what, so that means that some 4041s were AC after all? I'm confused.
4041's and 4051's are DC.
4040's and 4050's are AC.

Also the 4041 and 4051 are the DC counterparts of the respectively the 4040 and 4050, right?
Sort of - the 4050 and 4051 have the same mechanical design (square sounder plate) but the 4040 (round sounder plate) and the 4041 (flat silver sounder plate) have different designs.

Somebody needs to ask a question again to keep this going so why not?

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

I am now interested in finding out what other schools take place in buildings like these because I am interested in how they would work. I used to go such a school. Here's how things work: The school occupies all of the 2nd floor and most of the 1st floors. There's an internal stairs near the side ...

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

Last week I did some surveying at Woodland School as part of an air conditioning project. Woodland is one of the K-3 schools in the district, the other being Country, which I attended. Woodland underwent a major refurbishment and expansion in 2003, and Country was completely demolished and rebuilt a...

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

I used to go to a school that was located in an office building (which coincidentally also has a Notifier system.) The building held a fire drill annually, and so did the other office buildings in the complex. The school once held its own fire drill many years ago when the buildingwide drill was ove...

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

Well, I finally know the voice-evac message on the Cerberus Pyrotronics panel! I showed a librarian as well as a gym teacher the first video below and they told me it was the exact same tone and message. Now for something odd: The library (which has speaker/strobes) is surrounded by classrooms that ...
