Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

Because of COVID, I have not been able to really check out my Community College's fire alarm systems, nor go to the school itself. However since I was able to get an ID i had gone through multiple buildings. Here's what I've documented! Building A is in two parts. The newly constructed addition has ...

Re: Voice evac in convenience stores and standalone Starbucks locations.

Florida seems to have a ton of standalone restaurants with voice evac. I have not found a single one of these in other states, and if there are they're connected to a Mall of some sort. There is a McDonalds/Noodles&Co combo in the middle of Chicago that has e60s though. The only convenience stores t...

Re: What's the loudest fire alarm that you've heard?

The worst/loudest horn I've ever heard, with only a Vibration 350 and a SpectrAlert Advance coming close, was a Cerberus Pyrotronics MC-S17-F. My middle school has eight of them scattered throughout the office/media building complementing the original three Wheelock 34 horns, and DEAR. LORD. They d...

Re: Home Depot has Gentex Commanders all over the place.

my home depot has the same setting (commander 4s) for their system but its a horn/strobe, then a strobe, then a horn/strobe again and that repeats from wall to wall. try and check the grilles.

Re: Music playing out of a horn/strobe. How is this possible?

I've seen videos of people who've managed to play voice evac messages over TrueAlert horn/strobes (pretty sure it was wheelovefirealarms) alongside other things. i'm not sure how its done but its really cool!

Re: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

At Target, the alarms weren't sounding, however their strobes were going off for the whole time we were there. Apparently the system was acting up. I've mentioned this place before but to any confusion I'll reiterate the devices. System Sensor L-Series PC2WLs and SCWL strobes scattered around in the...

Re: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

There's a [ROADNAME] animal hospital less than a mile away from where I live. Inside, there's a Wheelock 7002T-24 horn/strobe mounted above a Fire-Lite BG-10 pull station, along with an i3 smoke in both the lobby room and the back room plus an unknown heat detector with a grille (possibly installed ...

I've seen a few instances where alarms at my school with extruded backboxes have coke bottles sitting on the top of them. It's really funny tbh

Re: NAs where it can be hard to tell a remote strobe and horn/strobe apart.

With clear grille alarms such as the Genesis series, if there is no shiny spherical shape in the grille AKA the piezo speaker, the alarm is a remote stribe

The mircom/potter alarms with the exception of the LED series are the hardest tbh
