And... A Home Depot has a horn/strobe in the men's restrooms.
What kind of alarm is it?

Re: Uncommon alarm acquired!

From many pictures, (Cerberus) Pyrotronics rebrands the most obscure Wheelock signals. I didn't even know the Wheelock HSPW existed until i saw a Siemens rebrand of it (google images, unfortunately)

Re: why do we have to do fire drills once a month

I think the more drills schools do the more distrust of the fire alarm teenagers have, they'll end up ignoring the signals.

Re: At what point did you stop becoming afraid of the fire alarm?

I've always thought alarms in the gym were much quieter than in the hallways, especially mechanical horns like those ones. It may be due to the amount of open space.

That sucks. Almost as bad as the time I was in the school shower and the fire alarm went off (and it WAS a drill.) XD It happened right before our first break and we entered back in like 10 minutes before. there was nothing to really teach in that time frame so they just gave us an extended break lol

Re: Fire, Inclement Weather, Lockdown, and Other Disaster Prevention Drills for the 2018-2019 School Year

I guess I'll post this here but the fire alarm went off today at 9:30 (June 26th, 2019) , the second-to-last day of summer school. There was actually a microwave accident that tripped one of the smoke detectors so it wasn't a drill. This was the first time that I didn't cover my ears for the ZHs (la...

At what point did you stop becoming afraid of the fire alarm?

For me, it was around sophomore year of high school (10th grade), and because I started to hang out with my friends more and often go to loud parties the suddenness of the alarms began to drift away, and I didn't feel like I had to cover my ears while evacuating. It was also at the time that my hear...

Re: Pull stations should not be used as light switches.

If voltage wasn't an issue, how would you turn the lights off if you lose the key, because that could be another problem.

Re: Do fire departments have fire alarm systems?

I don't know why there would be a chime/strobe in a fire station, but there could be a slim chance that's the case.

Re: Do fire departments have fire alarm systems?

I only realized this yesterday evening when I went to the dry cleaners to pick up clothes for my mother since she wants me to drive more LOL. So the RSS in the stairway (when I meant "exposed stairwell" I meant you could see it through a glass wall) is actually an E70! I'm surprised since it's a fir...

Re: Make Up a System (2.0)

Time to reignite this topic. I'm gonna do a library now and later I'll do like a waterpark or something. Don't worry I'm still gonna do schools I promiseee!!! LOL Alpine Public Library was finished in 1988 and is located somewhere north in Iowa. The structure is around 40,000 square feet and has two...

Re: Do fire departments have fire alarm systems?

The closest one to my house I saw an RSS in what I assume was an office. This was from the road in a car. There's also one in an exposed stairwell. So the answer is... yeah.

Re: Fire, Inclement Weather, Lockdown, and Other Disaster Prevention Drills for the 2018-2019 School Year

It would be weird if they replaced them after only 4 years but because they already junked the other horn/strobes, I don't think they have any choice. It would be weird having one building with mass notification and the other building only with fire horn/strobes, then to make a new safety video for...
