Re: What are some things that the General Public misconceives about Fire Alarms that drive you crazy?

You guys remember the age-old lie that pulling the fire alarm sprays ink on your hands to tell who pulled it or not to scare grade-school students?

Re: What are some things that the General Public misconceives about Fire Alarms that drive you crazy?

- Rolling my eyes when a student at my college thought the fire alarm (2901-9838's in continuous) was someone's phone vibrating. I might be only 23, but I was definitely thinking "Kids these days..." Isn’t it the same mechanism though for phones vibrating and mechanical horns? Either they were very...

Re: Fire, Inclement Weather, Lockdown, and Other Disaster Prevention Drills for the 2018-2019 School Year

I’ve posted a few pictures of both the lockdown strobes and the new speaker/strobes on this forum. I’ll post some more on here once I get home from school.

Yeah as soon as a fatality is called I hope the school administration realizes how idiotic this is. Good thing my school is not adopting this stunt...

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

They removed a few TrueAlert horn/strobes on one side of the school, and the only thing that is left are those small vertical covers. The simplex pulls installed underneath them are Siemens now.

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

They replaced all the Simplex alarms in the hallway that links the two buildings with the wall-mounted speaker/strobes not only that but also in the computer lab thats part of the hall. Pulls and smokes are installed and the red dust covers are removed from the smokes that replaced TrueAlarms, not n...

Re: Fire, Inclement Weather, Lockdown, and Other Disaster Prevention Drills for the 2018-2019 School Year

Not really sure if this is counted as a drill or really anything, but my school had this safety awareness day where the goal was to explain lockdown procedures to every single class. I knew this earlier but it gives more conclusion that the blue Wheelock strobes flash during school lockdowns. One of...

Do you know when the first fire drill with the new system will be?
no idea. I’m assuming they will test the system after it’s finished but still i don’t know

and since they have ‘ALERT’ instead of ‘FIRE’ possibly any drill would use them

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

Boo! That sucks! I like the older horns! XD lol true. I had no problem with the old horn and since my ears got way less sensative i can walk through those and TrueAlerts on continuous. I think the really cool part is that the alarms are really well replaced. Like you don’t see much any trace of an ...

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

THEY ARE REPLACING THE ALARMS. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. REPEAT; THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Yep, a horn/strobe plate and a remote strobe (9846/9105 and standalone 9105) in one of the enterences were both replaced with speaker/strobes (SET-CMC-W-MNS-ALERTs), their Simplex pulls below (2099-9795s) replaced with ...

What are Alice and Reunification drills?
I believe ALICE stands for something refering to emergency procedures.
