Re: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

At Target, the alarms weren't sounding, however their strobes were going off for the whole time we were there. Apparently the system was acting up. I've mentioned this place before but to any confusion I'll reiterate the devices. System Sensor L-Series PC2WLs and SCWL strobes scattered around in the...

Re: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

There's a [ROADNAME] animal hospital less than a mile away from where I live. Inside, there's a Wheelock 7002T-24 horn/strobe mounted above a Fire-Lite BG-10 pull station, along with an i3 smoke in both the lobby room and the back room plus an unknown heat detector with a grille (possibly installed ...

Re: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

I've seen a few instances where alarms at my school with extruded backboxes have coke bottles sitting on the top of them. It's really funny tbh

Re: NAs where it can be hard to tell a remote strobe and horn/strobe apart.

With clear grille alarms such as the Genesis series, if there is no shiny spherical shape in the grille AKA the piezo speaker, the alarm is a remote stribe

The mircom/potter alarms with the exception of the LED series are the hardest tbh

Re: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

The Art institute of Chicago has a MASSIVE Siemens MXL system. From my experience there, a majority of devices are Siemens ZH horn/strobes, red/white AND wall/ceiling. They can also be found in the bathrooms! Some reason, I feel like the installation for the Art Institute and O'Hare airport are rela...

Re: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

Nite N' Dale has an unknown system with 2 Gentex Commander 3 horn/strobes covering both seating areas respectively. The FIRE lettering for the alarms is mounted upside down while the NA itself is installed rightside up, which is very strange. Bathrooms have a ceiling mount SpectrAlert horn/strobe RI...

Re: why do we have to do fire drills once a month

That is why they never happen at lunch or during passing periods at least for me over here. If it takes too long to evacuate everybody you would have kids scarfing down their lunch. Its very critical especially at the elementary school level to eat a good lunch. Also if they gave the students that ...

Re: I found something cool online today....

They seem to rebrand a lot of CP/Siemens equipment, and knowing that CP used those mechanical horns makes me wonder if TorkAlert has a deal with the company.

Re: What alarm do you have at work/school

On my first day of school, I had noticed a interesting looking device located outside the staff office building facing the football field. It looked to be similar to the blue lockdown alarms (there was one already installed near it, so I assumed that maybe they installed two for whatever reason) but...
