Re: Which company has the best style of walk test?

I'm a fan of Simplex since it'll honk the horn (or speak through the speaker) for whatever zone/address you are testing.

Re: How to integrate fire alarm to building control system?

Depending on the panel it may have built in BACnet control. I'd suggest contacting your service provider as this is a complex project.

lots dont even respond to those, smoke only.
What do you mean they don't respond? Like they have a reed switch and don't respond or just don't have a reed switch?

I meant on the smoke/heat detector.
might depend on the system but most commercial detectors i've seen don't have test switches like household smokes do.
Magtest?

I'm not a DMP guy but it sounds like even though you were able to retrieve the program, it may have been corrupted.

Re: School Shooting

True or false: Many of the people running the place did everything in their power to make things worse for us. False; they are too lazy to fix anything. I wonder if any schools have considered activating the fire alarm during some of their lockdown drills while teaching the students to ignore it du...

Re: School Shooting

Then that is a doubly huge reason why there should only be smoke and heat detectors within the school so there are no false alarms by pulling and killers getting ready to gun people down can't pull it to make their victims come out into the open. You can set off a smoke/heat detector if you are mal...

Re: Fire Alarm Panel Surge

When you start throwing 120V around circuits that are only rated for a max of 3.3-12 volts ver bad things happen very quickly. Like STR-SG said, there is no telling what broke. It could just be the PSU, or the entire thing could be dead. You won't know until you start fixing things and see what work...
