4100 Overcurrent Trouble

My 4100 panel keeps giving a power supply overcurrent trouble. It goes away with a reset but comes back every so often.

Re: 4100 Speaker taps

I found the label. It does indeed say 25v. It's no wonder our speakers have been so low since the system was installed.

Re: 4100 Speaker taps

I'm not 100% sure, but the amp does have a jumper cut labeled "remove for 25v".

4100 Speaker taps

Our 4100es has a 100 watt 25v amp. We have some areas of the building that the voice evac volume is less than desirable. The Simplex tech suggested moving the taps up a position or two. When I went to check a few of their current taps to determine how much breathing room we had, most of the speakers...

STR-SG is correct. The eol resistor is a 3.1K. I have a md/2K manual.
Could I get a copy? I've just been guessing at the terminals so far.

Re: Federal Signal Autocall Panel

Best I can tell from searching, it's an MDK-2. I still haven't found any information on it. Each module has 10 terminals associated on the top terminal strip. On the 2 zone cards, terminals 1-2 and 3-4 have 24v. If I knew what eol resistor it wanted, it would help.

Federal Signal Autocall Panel

I acquired a Federal Signal Autocall panel that looks very similar to a 2001. Before it was removed, all of the internal wires were removed on the card cage. Does anyone have a manual or wiring diagram to get it going? It's a simple panel with the controller card, two zone cards, and a signal circui...

why bluepoint? any FA system can take a lockdown pullstation and initiate a lockdown sequence. leverage a life safety system already in place.
Agreed, Bluepoint is overrated IMO. We are doing just about everything it does with our 4100.

Re: School Shooting

Guess what they use to lock those doors most of the time? Magnets. Guess what unlocks those magnetic locks? Fire alarms. So let's say you have a barrier door just inside the main door and a pull station next to the main door.... Electric strikes don't have to release with the fire alarm, but they ar...

Re: School Shooting

As of now, they aren't doing that. It will just be audible.

Re: School Shooting

Gotta get the AHJs on board and that's a tough task. They haven't caught up to the security threat yet. That's why they have a stroke when law enforcement tells schools to ignore the fire alarm in most cases. I am involved in security at my kid's private school, and this summer I have Simplex coming...

School Shooting

So, another school shooting today and the fire alarm was pulled. This time, it doesn't appear that the killer pulled it but rather a student running out. Hopefully, this didn't add to the casualties. When are we going to get codes and laws changed?? I believe it's time for pull stations in schools t...

Re: Lockdown Voice Evac Messages?

I'm curious if anyone has seen or heard a Simplex system with a lockdown message. I have been for over a month now waiting on Simplex to tell me whether or not their master database has one so we can upgrade our 4100 at our private school.
