Re: I'm so old I remember when...

American Airlines let families board as priority. Fort Riley Elementary used to be a 60s building. Checked on Gmaps and it's gonna be replaced. Family Video was located on College Avenue in Appleton. There were Searchlight signals on the former Soo Line. Minecraft version 1.8.9 was the hot new updat...

Re: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

Another one for ya at a local university art building. Panel: Simplex 4100ES. Two 4010ES cabinets, one with a board, the other with voice evacuation and NAC cards. IDs: Simplex 4099s (Dual Action). I forgot the smokes, though. NAs: Wheelock ET70-24MCW(H)-FRs (Arial Lettering, as opposed to Engravers...

Re: 6160rf panic buttons

So, what I'm hearing is the LCD works just fine, but the panic buttons don't work as intended?
I would try:
a. Reprogramming the panic zones;
b. Replacing the keypad, or;
c. Re-addressing the keypad.

Re: 6160rf panic buttons

Well, I have some experience with these types of systems. First of all, what security panel are you using? The crazier Vista series panels (like the 128iP) needs the keypads to have addresses. The more simpler systems such as the 10SE need the keypad to be set to address 31 (non-addressable code, de...

Re: Simplex Company says no

Sorry to hear this! Since the 4010's programming is done remotely, it is programmed via computer liked via an ethernet cable to the panel. So, ALL modern Simplex is programmed this way. I have no idea how to help you with this, though. And, yes, some of the YouTubers who set up these panels have got...

Re: 4100ES SIMPLEX - No battery needed $$$ saving

Conclusion: just pick up some bloody batteries! Sure, they're not super cheap, but you can get two 15Ah batteries for $85.53 from the Home Depot. That's like four face value P2WLs. Not much in the grand scheme of things. If you have to use the UPS, connect the mains ( [BEFORE THE UPS ) to a contacto...

Re: What is your favorite video game?

I STILL play minecraft being 14 years old at the time of writing. Cities: Skylines is for when I'm bored and have a lot of time on my hands (my cities are almost always in debt lol.) And, nobody can forget Smash Brothers. Father got an emulator for his xbox and showed me the ropes, and pretty soon, ...

I'd recommend searching for the manual online. If the internet doesn't have anything, then you could consider contacting Eaton for a manual, but make sure to specify it's a discontinued model.

Re: Edit/delete posts & edit username whenever desired

So moved, and I'll second that. I would also like to make a motion to allow users to edit all posts that are less than 2 weeks old, but moderators may: a. Remove long-term editing privileges (e.g. revert to original editing rules) from a single user at a time. b. Remove instant editing privileges (e...

Re: Name That Fire Alarm! (2.0)

I rarely post on here as I don't have much of an interest in fire alarms anymore, but I got bored earlier today and was snooping around the Smithsonian Museums in Washington, DC on Google Maps when I stumbled across this strange speaker/strobe . Anyone know who makes it or what it is? Looks like so...

Re: Simplex 2903 short circuit

Well, I don't know how to help exactly, but I bet I could give some pointers.
1. Make sure you have an EOL resistor installed.
2. Wire the light in series.
3. Have another notification appliance on the circuit.
I hope these helped in a way!
