Re: Autocall is coming back

Small end Simplex systems are virtually obsolete. That's the whole reason they want to revive the Autocall brand. They're trying to get something to compete with say the Silent Knight 5808. Even the Silent Knight 5808 isn't all that popular. I can think of very few places I've been to with a 5808 i...

Re: If you could own any system...

My username will give my dream choice away :D. My #1 dream choice is a LOADED Cerberus Pyrotronics IXL system, complete with every option available. As for a practical conventional choice, I'm torn between a Simplex 4002-4006 or a Cerberus Pyrotronics System3 or SXL. As for addressability, a Siemens...

Re: System Sensor L-Series and MDL - Will it sync?

Is the System Sensor L-Series compatible with the MDL Module? According to the data sheet, L-Series signals are compatible with the System Sensor MDL3. It should have some backwards compatibility, but the sync protocol support for the OLD first-generation SpectrAlert Classic MDL modules was phased ...

The new L-Series chimes still carry the same tones as their predecessor. See attached datasheet link below.

Ceiling mount Wheelock ZNS.
Yes and no...

Yes, it's a Wheelock ZNS-24MCC-FR, but it's technically a Siemens ZH-MC-CR.

Re: New System Sensor Notification Series!

S.E.R. Safety on YouTube had uploaded a review of these alarms: https://youtu.be/I8fR8LCjZrA YAY!!! They kept the advance sound!!! That's my all time favorite alarm sound!!! -____- don't judge me I also like the other 3100 hz tone but I feel like it won't be used that much, more like the high frequ...

Re: Kidde Firex quesiton

The only thing I can think of that could make them all go off randomly is that maybe a power surge ran in on them, or one of the detectors had a local malfunction and it affected the communication relay.

As for the CO=T4 on one, T3 on the rest....I honestly don't know.

Re: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

So...a local church near me just got an upgrade of sorts. The original system: EST QuickStart QS1 EST SIGA-PS smoke/duct detectors EST SIGA-278 pulls EST Genesis G1-Series fixed candela signals The QuickStart failed miserably due to a phantom CPU fault (how surprising  ), so a new system has b...

Re: Prototype Fire Alarm Models

Hey guys. I saw another post of a fire alarm model, and I decided to make a topic related to this subject. To start this off, here is one of my models. It is a Xenon strobe, and a horn that sounds like a "whistle". http://3.1m.yt/UQo9BIE.png Here is the Sketchup file: http://www.fast-files.com/getf...

Re: Federal Signals horn at the back of Kmart.

Have you seen this? My local Kmart had one in the back of the store. It recently closed down. Our now-closed Kmart and still functioning Ingles Market both have circa 1990 Thorn-Autocall systems, complete with Federal Signal 450D+VALS horn/strobes throughout both stores. Kmart has a couple of repla...
