Alarms from Grainger Supply

Hello! I am a newbie at fire alarms and wanted to know which of the two alarms would be a good starter alarm.

A: Edwards Genesis EG1RF-P

B: Spectralert Advanced MHR

Like I said, I have a limited budget and am just starting out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The first alarm, a Genesis horn, is OK, but it does have some small issues
I’d rather go with the System Sensor MHR horn.

I will assume based on the fact that you have $30 + shipping to spend, would you like to buy one of my Mystery Boxes for $38? (That’s $25 for the box and $13 for the shipping)

Have fun and welcome to the collecting community.

TomsAlarms, dont forget that there are other places on the internet where you can buy the same alarms but much cheeper. I recommend for now you to buy one of Andrews (The dude above this post) mystery boxes, as it will provide you with more than one alarm.

What flaws does the Genesis have?

We’ll it is 2 wire so that’s one issue but for a little more money you will get more alarms and they will be in better condition then some of the ones on eBay. I have used Andrews videos to help my dad install lots of panels and alarms because of what Andrew taught me so he’s reliable too.

Your dad, a tech, watches a complete strangers videos (No offence Andrew), to do HIS job?!?

And may I say, RUUUUUUUUNNNNNNONNNNNNNN

I think he meant that he learns from Andrew’s videos so he can help out on his dad’s jobs.

exactly

After taking a really long math test(Algebra) I can’t think

What the hell? Are you at summer school right now?

No, never been in summer school. Testing out of pre- Algebra. I passed

As well, to change the coding to the alarm, you have to physically break off tabs on the alarm, and once you do that the alarm is stuck in the permanent coding.
