Alkaline Battery Problem

Side note: I tried looking up the issue on Google, however, but I had no idea what search terms to use.

My Zoom H1 recorder claims that the battery is low, but when I took it out and tested it using the battery tester*, it said that it was (almost) full. I’ve only had the H1 since Wednesday, and the battery is a Maxwell model, which actually came included with the unit. :?

  • At the time of writing this, I am out of town for the weekend, and I don’t have my multimeter with me, so I’m unable to get a voltage reading.

If you bought it on Wednesday, is the battery under warranty?

I’m curious as to where this battery was manufactured…even though it’s pretty obvious.

I don’t think so.

UPDATE: While I was doing some direct line recordings of some of the built-in demo songs on my keyboard, when the battery status indicated 1 (out of 3) bars, I did a test with my multimeter, and I got around 1.3-1.4 volts (out of 1.5).
