I have seen many fire alarm horn/strobes in bathrooms and am wondering if there is a shower or source of steam in the bathroom will the device need to be rated for outdoor use or can it be a regular device.
Bathrooms or restrooms? Are these residential systems?
This is a commercial system were there is a shower in the bathroom. There is also one in the locker room were there are showers.
I’m not sure about the codes for that, but I think Simplex had manufactured an NA for use in humid environments.
I see it done both ways all the time. If the devices is in the locker room I would put in a normal one and be prepared to swap it later if there’s a service issue. If it’s in the actual shower use a weatherproof device.
Ok Thanks
