Have you pulld a fire alarm in an actual building due to an emergancy?
No, not in an emergency (thankfully).
The only time I’ve pulled the alarm was way back in 2005 when the panel at the school my grandmother worked at was being worked on and the guy told me to pull the alarm.
What was the situation in which you almost had to pull the alarm?
Nope. Never have. I’ve never even pulled a pull station before ever. I don’t have a fire alarm collection myself.
i almost did there was smoke comming out of a frezer at target and i told my dad that i will pull the alarm and he said no if there is a fire someone els will do it and 3 min later the alarm sounded
Was there a pull station on the sales floor? My Target doesn’t have one available to guests. What alarms did your Target have? Sorry if you have posted that before in another thread, I forget some things.
yes the pull station was in eye sight it was like 5’ from me and the store had Nbg12lx and gentex SHG s and a bosch keypad
That is just like my school’s system, except we do not have a Bosch control panel, ours is Notifier. I’m not sure how they got Notifier addressable pull stations to work with a Bosch control panel, or a Bosch keypad to work with a Notifier control panel, unless the Bosch keypad was part of the burglar alarm system.
I have a few times but it was for testing:
Middle school – Fire Drill
High school – Fire Drill
A building in Portland – pulled about ten stations to ensure the mini monitor modules I had just wired to them were working properly.
It was one of the last fire drills in 6th grade. The firefighters walked in during the last hour which was English for me. They told the teacher it was time to pull the alarm. I asked her if I could do it. She said yes. When I got to corridor, not two feet away from the station, the principal shouted “You never pull a fire drill!” Now that I think about it, it was kinda stupid to think they would actually let me pull the alarm.
So wasn’t for an emergency

What, so the firefighters were joking?
Never had to pull one and probably never well.
I have pulled one with permission to test our system I was. Scared that it would. Shoot ink at me but it didn’t its was those Simplex TBARS I might receive a another alarm. All I have to say
I don’t know of any pull stations that spray ink. That is a myth to get people to stop pulling fire alarms. I believe that schools would sometimes put ink on the panel.
I have! At my school, the principal had me pull and reset the fire alarm for a drill. 8)

If you read it it says for an emergancy. 8)
Well not in the topic title, so it could be a bit ambiguous for somebody coming in to post.
I have never pulled a fire alarm before, But I did silence, reset a pull, and reset the panel at work during a false alarm. I work at Red Lobster, and it was a busy saturday, the lobby was crowded. A guest had leaned on the pull station and set it off.
In elementary school (5th grade) I got the opportunity to pull the fire alarm for a fire drill. The principal supervised it. I was nervous about the Wheelock MT right above it, but she assured me that there was a delay between pulling it and the alarm sounding so I had plenty of time to move away. After I pulled it, the annunciator sounded and it took a good 5-7 seconds for the alarms in the building to go off. It was a neat experience. I also got to reset the alarms at the annunciator.
