Need Advice on Conventional Fire Alarm Panel and Detectors

Hello Everyone, Can anyone please tell me for a Conventional System if I use a Fire Alarm Panel of one vendor and detectors from other vendor will the system work? I have found in a industry this type of case and they are saying that the fire alarm panel gives a false alarm, any idea why it is giving a false alarm???

The panel installation manual should list what compatible smoke detectors are approved to use with the panel. It is not uncommon to have, for example, “System Sensor” brand smoke detectors on a “Silent Knight” fire alarm panel. Typically, this should only matter for 2-wire style detectors (the most common) but 4-wire style detectors should be compatible for any type of fire alarm panel. It would help if you could tell us what panel you have and what detectors. Pictures are good too.

But lets assume the detectors you have installed are indeed compatible with your control panel, false alarms can come from anything. An improperly installed detector - like one too close to a HVAC vent or in a really humid environment. You should be able to tell what smoke detector is in alarm by the illuminated red light. Improperly installed wiring - if the zone wiring is pinched, damaged, or hacked up in the process of stripping and terminating the wire, a dead short on the zone will cause the zone to go into alarm. You won’t have any detector lit up in alarm but the fire alarm panel will be.

The best thing you can do, is next time your system goes into a false alarm is DO NOT RESET THE SYSTEM!!! “Silence” the alarm (turn off the bells, horns, strobes, etc) but do not press the RESET button. Call your alarm company and have them figure it out from there. Trying to figure out an intermittent false alarm on a conventional system is almost impossible for a tech if the system is reset upon arrival. And it will just end up costing you more money in return visits!

Dear Lambda, Thank you very much, I will try my best to follow your instructions.
