So what do you guys think about the new channel layout that everyone is forced to move over to on May 29th?
Personally, I do not like it too much.
I haven’t gotten the notice yet. :roll: Google, leave stuff alone. They even changed the layout of Google+ today.
I like how an ordinary user can now have a banner/graphic at the top of the channel, something only partners could do.
Everything else is garbage, though.
I think it’s complete garbage as well. From the viewpoint of a partner, it removes yet another benefit of being one by removing the flexibility we had for the channel header image.
If I remember correctly, the into video for this new layout claims that every channel is “as unique as a snowflake,” or something along those lines, but I’ve taken that to mean each channel is white, boring, and more or less the same as all the others. :evil:

From the partners point of view, I feel bad for them because now being a monetizer/partner means nothing.
But for the average joe like me, it’s nice but I don’t rely on it.
To get back onto the new channel layout design, I like it because I can browse through videos a lot faster and I think a change is a good thing. Just the only thing I don’t like is my subscriptions not being on the homepage.
I hate it it turned my username into my full name so instead of nathan12345toto it’s Nathan herzing
That was optional.
I was able to keep CODMarioWarfare (dumb name, I know, but I hate change and my parents hate me having my real name online… for some reason…).
I hate the fact that it doesn’t turn the links purple after you are done clicking on them, so its a pain in the backside to keep track of which links you looked at.
Everything you guys don’t like, I like (except for the white background). I also like the banner, and I like how I can add modules to my channel homepage.
Don’t worry, it will be changed in another 2 weeks.
I liked the old channel better
The old channel was better when videos were separated into pages. I don’t want to have to keep scrolling and clicking if I’m going through someone’s videos, Youtube.
And when you lose your spot you have to start at the top again
I hate how it resets when you reload the page. When I’m browsing a channel with hundreds of videos, and click on a video, when I hit back, it goes to the top.
It’s so annoying! :x

Another complaint about Google for me is the phasing out of iGoogle.
What is I google?
It was a customizable Google start page.
Trying to stop this is kinda like trying to hold up the world by yourself. Google only listens to what they want to hear.
