I think most people know its wrong but do it anyway. I remember a few years ago in high school one of my friends got ticketed for parking in front of a fire hydrant (in his brand new BMW that he got as soon as he got his license). He was a jerk. He knew the laws but he never obeyed any law, he was always speeding, always littering, never used his turn signals, and always parking in a fire zone or a handicapped spot. He was so furious that the cops put a hard to remove sticker on his windshield for the fire hydrant ticket, I was like think about a fire truck trying to find a hydrant and get access to it if there was a fire, and he was worried about the sticker on his windshield. Sometimes he would pretend to not know a rule, like when he was smoking inside a restaurant, they told him there was no smoking, he said “huh, there’s not, oh ok I’ll go outside” just pretending not to know. I haven’t talked to him since high school, hopefully he is starting to obey laws now.
Sounds like the cool, fast car went to his head and gave him some false impression that he’s “cool” and can do whatever he wants with it.
Then I kept reading…
Sounds more like he’s an anarchist in terms of his other behaviors.
He rejects all forms of authority and he’s constantly getting in trouble for it, but not learning or listening to reason that what he is doing is not going to fly in our society.
If somebody does park in a fire lane and a fire truck does have to come to put out a fire, wouldn’t they have to break into the car to move it out of the way?
I’ve spoken with law enforcement officers about the subject. Most FD crews don’t even waste time with windows and simply will “move” your car for you (those trucks are meant to push) the folks in that picture are darn lucky it was only the windows that were broke.
Beamers from the 1990s are U-GU-LEE. I prefer 2013 BMWs. If I was a firetruck, I’d push it, then get a tow truck and tow it to the police impound. Even a Ferrari.
