Has anyone ever seen a Simplex 2903 before that had a white bezel? I’ve heard from people (on Facebook) say it was a special order, and they are very rare. I know I’ve seen one in a video that has one, which was mounted on the ceiling, proving they exist.
There is also 4903/4904 lights/strobes that have white bezels. One guy on youtube has 3. I have seen a video where it has white lifealarm speaker strobes youtube.
That didn’t answer the question…
I don’t remember what the video was called but I saw a test of a system in a building at a college with white 2903 light plates on the ceiling.
Could they have been painted? I’m not saying I don’t believe you, but I have seen plenty of painted alarms. (purple RSSs at a Mexican restaurant I sometimes go to)
Wow…Your point could be true…
I think I remember seeing a catalog sheet somewhere that listed a white 2903. Later on I’ll try to dig it up.
A white 2903 would be the holy grail of alarms beside a white 4903/4904-9101 strobe plate
Next time you go to that restaurant, can you snap a picture of that purple RSS? I have seen a green RSS at a grocery store in Idaho.
Edwards made white versions of the 892. I saw a video of one, I thought it was on Vimeo but can’t find it; maybe it was on Myspace or some other video sharing site, but it’s not on YouTube.
I have seen yellow federal signal 450s on the back of the sugar beet factory in Brighton. They were replaced with gray 450s about 2 years ago.
Is the green RSS in the vegetable isle?

Interesting. Ive never seen a white Simplex 2903.
m1k3ylb0y56 That is a white version of an Edwards/EST light plate from the 90s, which is similar to a 2903, but is usually found with the light on the bottom, and its vertically at an angle. If you look closely where it says FIRE, that part is at an angle.
Those both look/sound really cool. Hopefully I’ll be fortunate to run across one someday. I have a couple older white alarms I assume are unusual, like a white System Sensor MASS (pre-ADA strobe) and a white flush Atlas speaker.

I’ve actually seen one of those (along with other FA related components) in a stock image I found through a Google Image search a long time ago…
we use lots of white ones, just depends on the jurisdiction if they allow it or not. architects and the like seem to prefer white.
I have seen white MASSs and even white system sensor Spectralert classic chime strobes with Red fire lettering.
