Simplex 4010ES

Here are a couple of pics of a Simplex 4010ES I saw on the jobsite I worked on today. I didn’t install this one, our company was there doing the Data cabling and I was helping that crew. I also got an ‘under the hood’ picture as well, sloppy wiring and all. I never thought I would have seen one of these in my area.

The main interface does not have raised buttons like the 4100U or ES does, it has the flat style buttons like the 4100 did. The display is attached to the dress panel door, and the outer door is plastic now. The vertical card with the cat5 (blue cable that originates from the top conduit entry) leads attached to it is the dialer. It is a small board in a giant backbox. The system had a supervisory active on a duct detector, and a trouble from the same device.

That’s a pretty nice panel. Looks very modern.

I saw one of these last month. I went on a vacation to Atlantic City and we ate at a restaurant on the boardwalk called the Landshark Bar & Grill, and it had a 4010ES installed w/ TrueAlerts. Nifty panel, although the controls to look a bit scrunched together, if I may say so.

The 4010’s have been known to take long time to reset.
