Weird TrueAlert

Has anybody here ever seen any TrueAlerts that look like this? I didn’t know that they were made like that, so I found it to be a bit weird. Anybody know if it is actually for a fire alarm application?

Those are typically meant for use in systems that would be also used for warning about emergencies other than fires. I rarely see such things: in Brockton schools they either make some kind of emergency announcement on the intercom or ring the school bell for non-fire emergencies (usually for lockdown.)

I have seen a EST Genesis speaker/strobe that had a clear strobe for fire signaling, and a yellow strobe attached, for general signaling.

I can imagine this confusing occupants, I know it would confuse me.

There were two strobes on the device? How would two strobes fit on the device?

Sorry for the bad pic, but kind of like this:

Yes, exactly like that, but in white.

Looks kind of ugly.

Yes, and it can also be confusing when being used for general alerting, as the unit is red, and has the symbol of the “running man” on it.
