As some of you may know, Apple released the 9th major update to OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, yesterday from the Mac App Store for $19.99. Although it’s only been a year since Mac OS X 10.7 Lion was released, there are still lots of new features, applications, etc. However, a lot of these new features draw heavily on iOS in terms of both their design and functionality. Some more “serious” Mac users don’t appreciate this since it seems as if the power a user has over their computer is being limited.

In my experience, it seems as though the more iOS inspired features aren’t a central part of the operating system, and you can get along just fine without ever using them. For example, when opening an App, I usually open it via the Applications folder in the dock. I rarely use Launchpad.

So my question to all the Mac users here is are you planning on upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion? Also, what do you think about all of the iOS inspired features?
