Post your Specs!

Hey everyone, I split these posts from the other topic.

Post your specs!

These types of computers are what i’m thinking of:

HummingBoard-i2eX
System On Chip i.MX6 Dual
Core Count 2
Memory size 1GB
Memory Config 64 bit, 1GB @ 1066Mbps
GPU GC2000
3D GPU Type OpenGL ES1.1,2.0 Quad Shader
Video Engine Multi format video decoder and encoder
HDMI 1080p with CEC 1.4, 3D support
LVDS Display Out Yes
MIPI CSI 2.0 Camera 2 Lane CSI-2
Wired Network 10/100/1000 *
PCI-Express Gen 2
Powered USB 2.0 2
Powered Internal USB 2.0 2
Ect…

But when this can compute faster than the PC i am using, i still don’t get it.

NAs, why so expensive? If your building a small school, and its costing 40,000 in NAs, its kinda sad…

Not to brag but…

AMD FX-9590 4.7GHz 8-Core Processor

Here’s my desktop PC – it’s from 2010 so don’t laugh. lol

Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 motherboard
Intel P55 chipset
Intel Core i5-750, 2.66 Ghz Quad Core (First generation, this was before Sandy Bridge was announced)
8 GB of DDR3 RAM, Corsair XMS3
GeForce GT 640 video card (this was an upgrade replacing a GeForce 9400)
LG Super All-Write CD/DVD Burner with LightScribe
Seagate 1 TB hard drive
HEC “CompuCase” ATX case (6AR6 something)
OCZ 700 watt modular PSU
Intel stock CPU cooler
Antec TriCool 120mm case fan
USB 3.0 (Gigabyte claims I have one of the first boards to have it built-in)

My desktop machine:

  • 16KB RAM
  • 10KB ROM (operating system)
  • MOS 6502 CPU, 1.8MHz
  • Display: 320x192 resolution
  • External storage: 5.25 floppy, USB 0.0

It actually loads up the forums quite nicely.

MacBook Pro, 13" Mid 2014 w/ Retina Display:

  • Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5

  • Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

  • Graphics: Intel Iris (1536 MB)

  • Display: Built-In Retina Display (2560 x 1600)

Weight: 10.24 ounces
Battery Type: Lithium ion
Rated Charge (normal use): 10 hours
802.11bgn
Bluetooth
7" 323ppi screen

Also known as the Nexus 7, 2013

thing was dirt cheap too.

PCBS Custom PC - Late 2011

GIGABYTE AM3+ USB3 Motherboard (Forgot the exact model number)
AMD FX 6 Core CPU
16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 RAM
Seagate 1TB HDD
LEPA Power Supply
Rosewill Redbone Case
XFX Double D 6850 1GB GPU

It’s getting pretty old, but I don’t have money to replace it right now.

I have several everyday use machines, so I’ll pick the one I use at home.

-Intel Core i5-520m (lowest-end spec for the Lenovo Thinkpad T410)
-8 GB DDR3-1066 RAM
-AData SX900 128 GB SSD for booting, WD Black 750 GB drive for storing all of the main files
Also in terms of hard drives:
-2 TB Seagate Barracuda to store all of my YouTube stuff
-two more 2 TB drives (one a MyPassport, the other a Toshiba) for storing backups
-1 TB Toshiba for storing virtualization-related stuff
-500 GB MyPassport Ultra for storing archived videos
-500 GB Caviar Blue for storing ISO images
-320 GB Seagate for storing assorted other stuff
-300 GB WD VelociRaptor for storing stuff related to my website

The last thing of note is that it has four USB hubs connected: one with 10 ports, two with 7 ports, and a four-port one that is turned on and off when needed. The 10 and one of the 7 port hubs are wall-powered as well.

Yes, the configuration is insane and not something I’d recommend at all. I have to unplug one of the hubs at startup, otherwise it fails to POST. Kinda funny, actually. None of my other machines are as luxuriously equipped as this.

Oh yeah, it runs Windows 7 Professional too, same install as when I got it almost half a year ago now, possibly longer.

According to Piriform Speccy…
Operating System
Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU
AMD K16 43 °C
Mullins Technology
RAM
4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-12-28)
Motherboard
LENOVO Lancer 5B2 (Socket FT3b)
Graphics
Generic PnP Monitor (1366x768@60Hz)
T22B350 (1920x1080@60Hz)
512MB ATI AMD Radeon R4 Graphics (Lenovo) 43 °C
Storage
931GB Western Digital WDC WD10JPCX-24UE4T0 (SATA) 30 °C
Optical Drives
MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ8FBS
Audio
Conexant SmartAudio HD
I also have a 4-port USB hub plugged in with an old 128MB flash drive (it has some old stuff on it that I don’t really want to move/delete), a 4GB flash drive used for ReadyBoost, and an 8GB flash drive for assorted crap.
It’s plugged in (via VGA, because my Pi is using the HDMI port) to my Samsung TV.
My keyboard is a Unicomp Model M reproduction, and I have a Logitech M-310 wireless mouse.

It’s not the best, but it works, and I like it. I wish I had Ubuntu on this thing, though.

This is my desk.

After reading this, I just noticed your NES in the picture. Cool!

You noticed the NES, but not the GameCube?

Yes, because I play my NES often and I’m used to seeing it. I don’t have a GameCube.

Sorry to bump this old post but I just now became curious to what it looks like when it loads the forums.

That’s an Atari 800, one of Atari’s first home computers from the '80s. As far as I know, it cannot connect to the Web, much less the Internet at large. Green’s just being facetious, like always.
The Commodore 64, however, has limited online ability, like Telnet BBSes and IRC. But I digress.
