Pull Station FAIL!

Here’s a pull station “mounted” on a wall at a local Dollar Tree. Interestingly enough, the annunciator keypad was flush-mounted, as were all the signals (Second generation Spectralert Classics).
I’m surprised the weight of the pull station and backbox didn’t yank the wires off the terminals. Is foam tape allowed for fire alarm installations? I don’t think it is.

Lambda would have a field day with this…

Yeah, I wouldn’t have used 1" screws and hollow wall anchors to begin with. That thing is just begging to get knocked off the wall, especially in a retail store! I’m sure I could have gotten that pull flush mounted, even with that cinder block wall behind it. As long as that block is hollow, anything is possible!

Oh, I meant you writing up things to the Fire Marshal.

I just might send them a nastygram. That’s definitely in violation of NFPA 72 and ought to be rectified as soon as possible before they fail their inspection!
