Spectralert CHSR Freakout

Video Explains all. Lol.

It’s a two wire device, so it will not sound on a coded setting. And other advice, NEVER wore two wire devices to a coded NAC AGAIN!!! I’ve lost many alarms like this because it damages the micro processors in the circuit board. Especially an alarm as this with a more advanced tone generator.

[Isaaaakkk] is correct. 2-wire notification appliances are made to operate on a constant DC output from the panel’s NAC. The march time output from your panel is turning the power on and off to the CHSR twice every second. This can damage the device.

2-wire notification appliances operate on constant DC with a digital code embedded in the power. That digital code is what synchronizes the strobe and tells the A/V when to sound the audible part of the appliance. This digital code can be supplied internally from the panel (which your panel can’t do) or from an external module (MDL Module for System Sensor). Each manufacturer uses a different method of embedding the digital code so notification appliances from different brands cannot share a notification circuit.

I advise you do not do this with these type of devices. It’s “freaking out” because it’s slowly being damaged. Makes sense now huh?

Just don’t do it and you’ll be alll good!!!
