jm2014's Fire Alarm System

Hey everyone,
I’ve decided to (somewhat) jump on board with System tests and demonstrations since I’ve been messing with alarms for a few years now. I am currently in the midst of a major fire alarm renovation as I have ordered a second addressable fire alarm panel on top of my Simplex 4010 that I’ve owned for a month now. I’m sure the notification appliance you see in the video gives a hint on what’s coming. The panel is expected to arrive tomorrow afternoon and if all works out I’ll make a second video.

Any way, I’ve temporarily hooked up my Genesis g1rf-hdvm (hint, hint) to NAC 2 on my 4010. Nac 2 is wired for Visual (on til Silence) and no sync protocol is used. After the new panel arrives, I will hook my other 4901-9805 in place of the genesis. The trouble you see on my panel is because I’ve disabled NAC 1 which is hooked up to all my 4901-9805’s and is quite noisy. The pull station that I’ve pulled is one of my many 4251-20’s which is connected to my 4090-9101 ZAM module Labeled Stairwell Pulls (aka Zone 1) and is displayed “IDNET Device: M1-3 Stairwell Pulls” on the acknowledge screen. I might make a full video on my 4010 system at a later date. The other T-bars you see next to the panel are both 4099-9001 pull stations.

The System at this time consists of

Initiating Devices:
(2) 4099-9001 T-Bars
(2) 4098-9754 Smoke Detectors
(1) 4090-9101 ZAM Module (2 4251-20’s and 1 Firelite BG-12)
(1) 4090-9001 IAM Module (Connected to a 2099-9761 Ordered by mistake, so had to use an IAM since the pull is a MAPNET II device)

Notification appliances:
(3) 4901-9805 with Gentex strobe plate (forgot model number, not labeled on device)
(1) System Sensor MDL connected to an SR and SW.
(1) Wheelock EH-DL1-WM-24 (Strobe only)
(1) Gentex SHG-24-15/75WR

Any way here is the video:

Please excuse the radio, didn’t realize the camera would pick it up so well.

Great video!

It is finally done! The new panel that I have received is an EST iO 1000! Not an iO 500 but an iO 1000 capable of holding up to 500 modules and 500 detectors. These as far as I know are a rarity and I have managed to get this panel for about 80% of it’s retail value! Plus in red! Anyway the pull station I am pulling is an EST SIGA-270 and the Notification Appliance is as you probably all know an G1RF-HDVM. thesdx on YouTube had an iO64 but this panel is 500 times bigger (in terms of how many devices this panel can hold).

This looks like a great setup! I’m glad that you were able to put it together! Its awesome!
