Wheelock Sound Clips

How has nobody posted this yet? At least I scanned through the threads here and didn’t see it. Anyway, have fun changing your phone ringtones this afternoon…

I didn’t even know half of these alarms existed! Pretty nice find.

On a side note, I found the message from Andrew’s system test video intros: http://www.cooperindustries.com/content/dam/public/safety/notification/Resources/Media%20Files/Sp40s%205.WAV

Thanks for these, I never knew these where around!

They have been up there for a while. In fact I’ve used the one that says “This is an audio system test” to do some testing on a voice evac system in a mall that was occupied at the time. Instead of embarrassing out my helper by making him continuously going “test, test, test” into the microphone, had it playing from a digital recorder.

The sound clip you are talking about seams like its from Silent Knight voice evac panels but I can be wrong.

Has anyone noticed that the sounds listed for “Series AS” and “Series Exceder” are the same exact sound files respectively? The code-3 sound comes from the Wheelock AS and the continuous sound comes from the Exceder.

And has anyone also heard the strobe capacitor (as well as the click for when it flashes) from said code-3 sound file?

The Exceder series is the newest line, basically replaced the AS series so it’s not surprising.

I did hear the stobe, and I believe Wheelock used the same or similar internal horn with the Exceder and AS.

Heh, our training manager at work has one of the recordings from Notifier’s Onyx DVC voice systems on his phone. What I like about it though is how perfectly it seems to fit the situation.

“Please remain calm and stand by the speaker for further instructions”

You forgot the click that comes in at the end of some of them!

Speaking of my intros and click noises – here is the now iconic click that played at the beginning of my first FA intro:

I knew you stole it from Dan! I just knew it! Haha, why didn’t you use your own pull station click?

whenever i click on it it wont let me download it,itll just send me to a player thing that lets me “sample” the sound or somthing

Right click - Save As

I thought Wheelock used the NS horn for the Exceder, and the AS was different?

You’d be right. The NS, ZNS, Exceder, and Exceder LED all use the same horn circuitry, producing a fairly deep, rich tone.
The AS, HS, and MT (set to Horn) all have the same tone. It’s higher pitched than the NS family.
