Excuse me, this is a high school you're talking about??
Yep. I’m not going to reveal the school name due to privacy’s sake but its up there with the highest ranked schools in the US.

Anyways to update, the old Simplex alarm removal process has been going very smooth. There are no more Simplex horn/strobes, pull stations, smoke detectors, etc in the hallways, It’s all Siemens now. They had just finished up with the 8000s [third floor]. The first strobes in some classrooms and bathrooms are finally being removed and covered after a semester and a half. It looks weird to see my 8th period math class have nothing on the wall lol.
That's cool, it just amazes me how the U.S. high schools are so massive and have everything in them. Here in Canada, I'm shocked if a highschool has an auditorium or even a pool. I think there is only one high school in my entire city with a pool.

Damn, that sucks. You should've checked the nearby dumpster, I'm pretty sure that's where the techs ended up throwing the devices into. It reminds me of a job I'm doing right now. We're replacing an Edwards 2280 system (original) in a 2 story family shelter with an Addressable Kidde VS4 system. Every device is getting replaced besides the 6" Bells. Which I gotta say, I appreciate it more as a tech than seeing an old system get taken out as a collector  There's just something about looking down the halls and rooms and seeing the shiny new heats/smokes, and the bright red pull stations, replacing the yellowed out, faded and older devices.

I would like to hear them, but still would rather keep the horn/strobes if they are electromechanical. :P

Electromechanical horn/strobes are really nice to listen to if you don’t have sensative hearing AND when the horns aren’t in classrooms. I could tell that the old TrueAlerts were definitely louder. Sadly, from observing pictures by the school over break, they might have removed each and every one of them.

Even when they are in a classroom its still nice to listen to them. Just as long as you aren't in the classroom when they go off. XD

Yep, no more Simplex alarms. I only saw a strobe in a storage closet but other than that everything is pretty much removed and covered.

You think the strobe will be removed also?

The closet was down a hall and I only saw the tip of the light. The entire area has removed alarms so I’m guessing no.

Deloitte's USDC in Lake Mary - where I am doing a 4-week assessment for a company called Specialisterne, which could lead to an internship and possibly full-time employment - has a rather interesting fire alarm system.

Panel
Siemens XLS(?), possibly replacing an MXL

Initiating Devices
Pulls here are Cerberus Pyrotronics MSI-20Bs (single action), smokes are a mix of older CP models and newer Siemens FirePrint smokes.

Notification Appliances
Signals here are mostly Siemens rebranded Wheelock ZNS horn/strobes and ZRS strobes (wall and ceiling mounted), but there are ceiling mounted CP U-MCS strobes in the elevator lobbies! It wouldn't surprise me if they used to have U-MMT-MCS or U-HNH-MCS horn/strobes.

Hope that they used to have U-MMTs so it would be one electronic alarm replacing another one because it always breaks my heart when electromechanical horns get junked especially since the U-HNHs were made for the longest period of time an electromechanical horn can be made for fire alarm applications.

Edit - I saw a U-MMT on the first floor lobby. There may be a mix of U-MMTs and ZNSs in the building!

Yes, just that one on the first floor. Not sure about others.
