I see red all the time.
I see a mix of both, I think black ones are most rare, I’ve only seen a couple of em.
Some department stores may opt to have white alarms because they’re “classier” or something.
It really comes down to the appearance. That’s why the white versions exist.
The Targets in my area have red horn devices on the poles, and white strobe devices on the ceiling tiles.
Other than round speakers I don’t see white devices that often. Usually in more fancy places there may be white devices.
The install that I did back in 2008 was all white NA’s, both wall and ceiling devices. It was for a grocery store.
