Seeking old Simplex/Couch Datasheets

Hey everyone,
I was wondering whether anyone’s found these old Simplex data sheets and has them in PDF format (I ask because I’d like to take a look at these old data sheets). The data sheet numbers are listed below for reference as well as a description of the products which data sheet I’m seeking. I also am seeking some old S.H. Couch Co. data sheets as well, but those will probably be hard to find.

S330-747: Datasheet for the Simplex 4251-2x TBar pull station series; produced from 1973-1991.

(number unknown): Datasheet for the Simplex (or Couch branded) re-branded S.H. Couch Co. 4251 series ‘LOCAL FIRE ALARM’ ‘Chevron’ pull stations

(number unknown): Datasheet for the Simplex 2901-9361 6" single stroke bells (or the datasheet for the entire series of Simplex bells)

(number unknown; existence unknown) Datasheet for the Couch F652/F652A Coded Pull Station Series

(number unknown) Datasheet for the Simplex 2901-9846 100 decibel horn

(number unknown) Datasheet for Simplex 4901-9805, 4903,9219, etc. series of electromechanical horn/strobes (or Faraday equivalent)

Was there every a data sheet for the Simplex 4050/4051 series? That’s another one I’m after.

Thanks everyone!

I have sheets for the Faraday-rebranded version of the Couch F652/F652A stations. I’ll scan and upload them when I get home later.

Cool! Thanks!

Here’s an image of the scanned Instruction Sheet for a Couch/Faraday F652T pull station. A link to the actual file is below.

I’m not sure if there are other documents that go along with this station, however this sheet was from the un-opened box of a new device. For that reason, I believe this is the only sheet that an installer would have found when opening the shipping box.

I believe they actually first began production around 1970 or 1971, that is, the early models with the metal lever without arrow. By 1972, they switched to the plastic lever with the arrow in the middle. (Someone on YouTube has shown his school’s fire alarm system that uses a bunch of the original 1972 fire alarm system components, including some 4251-20 pulls and 4041 horns on 4050-80 light plates! (Many other old pulls were since replaced with newer 2099-9756 dual-action pulls.)

Me too; my school has one without an arrow. All the others are from the early 80’s I think.

What alarms does your school have?

A Long List:
Main ones are 2903-9101 strobe plates with 2901-9838 horns underneath. All surface mounted on 2975-9145 boxes.
A few Wheelock Exceder (HSR) horn strobes replacing bad units with Simplex retrofit plates
Simplex 4903-9104 (rebranded Gentex ADA strobe plates; 15/75cd)/2901-9846 (100db) horns in areas affected by 1995 addition/main office renovation
One Simplex TrueAlert (4903 4-wire model) with retrofit plate; replacing 2903/9838 combo
One Simplex 4903-9252 horn/strobe (15 cd) with same horn circuit as Simplex TrueAlerts/replacing one bad 4903/9846 model
Simplex 4251 Local Alarm chevron pulls that date back to the 60’s in old parts of the building
Simplex 4251-20 (1 first gen with no arrow); all others 2nd/3rd generation
Simplex 2099-9761 MAPNET II Pull Stations in 1995 renovation/addition areas; some on flush plates, others are mounted normally
Simplex TrueAlarm MAPNET smoke detectors in 1995 additions/renovated areas
Simplex 4020 panel with Simplex 4009 NAC Extender; coded to fast march (120bpm)
Honeywell 5140MPS-2(rebranded SigCom) allen wrench pulls with Honeywell 5140MPS-BB backboxes; 3 of them; all only in auxiliary gym
One hex-lock BG-12 in the main gym replacing a 4251-20
All gym pulls have STI Stopper II covers (no horn) for obvious reasons so they don’t get hit by something and broken.

That’s a long list, but that’s pretty much it. Most of the original stuff is still there with the addition of oddball pulls that are different brands because Simplex doesn’t service the system; if they did all the replacement pulls/alarms would probably still be Simplex, but it’s whatever the company had on hand I guess.

Oh never mind. I know what school that is now. I watched it a few times.
