How to Disable Horn on Wheelock AS.

Hey, I was wondering how to disable the horn on the wheelock as. S.E.R Safety did it in a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBVOk4ikByc. I was just wondering because we don’t do well with loud noises. So can you show me how to disable it?

Just remove the volume jumper. Easy as that!

Connect it to a control panel or power supply that supports the Wheelock Patented Sync Protocol® and select Audible Silence.

If you’re never going to use it again, just cut the wires. As’s DO NOT have jumpers.

Yes, in fact, they do. There are jumpers on the bottom center of the device that provide for horn output selection.

However, I don’t think removing the jumpers themselves will disable the horn.

Removing the volume jumper will disable the horn.

On most AS series devices I’ve seen, no volume jumper sets the device to low volume. I can certainly see it being a possibility on older devices, though.

Oops I meant like the wire jumpers not the volume and code jumpers

What wire jumpers? He said he didn’t cut any wires.

You would have to cut the black and white wires that go directly to the horn.

He said several times you do not have to cut wies. I actually watched a video it said you need to take out the volume jumper. Mine has a volume jumper.

On my two AS’s if you remove the volume jumpers, it will just sound on low volume. It doesn’t disable the horn at all.

What if you put one end of the jumper in low volume and the other in high volume?

Either it will still sound, or you will fry it.

Okay, Thanks!

My Wheelock AS arrived today, I removed the volume jumper and set it off and it did disable the horn!
