Last week I passed my Canadian Fire alarm association registration theory exam and I now have to complete my registration practical exam to become a registered fire alarm technician in Canada. Has anyone done this theory exam, any hints as to what type of questions they ask, is there any panel programming involved? Is it mostly testing, installing and verifying? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey, congrats on the passing of the exam! For the practical, you have to perform an annual inspection on a demo fire alarm system while you are being watched for your abilities. They will also try to throw some faults in there while you are working with the system to see if you know what you are doing. I definitely would recommend getting a job in the field first, to gain some experience before attempting your practical!
