I was Windows-shopping on eBay (heh), and I noticed something: The listed current draw for a Simplex 2901-9806 (both the B2 and B4 versions) is .063 amps. I checked mine, and same thing.
However, I found other Federal Vibratones (none of them Simplex) that draw only .035 amps, as well as ones that draw .063. And these are ones with the original Federal mechanism, not the newer Faraday ones. There's also a 450 series B3 that draws a whopping .25 amps. Ouch!
You'd think they'd want to assign different model numbers to these things, but apparently they were too busy designing that doily they call a grille to notice. All kidding aside, I think this is a pretty cool little tidbit.
