Vertical incandescent lights on fire alarms. Did they exist?

I once saw a fire alarm a long time ago with a visual signal similar in shape to the one on the Simplex 2902 except that it was vertical instead of horizontal. Not sure if it was a incandescent light or a strobe. Did any fire alarms have vertical incandescent lights?

IIRC there was a vertical version of the 4903-9001 light plate.

Standard Electric made a light plate with a vertical lens. Edwards also made one called the 891D that could be mounted either way due to its lack of FIRE markings.

Also, do you remember where you saw it?

I’m just curious though. Could the 891D have come with a light that did say “FIRE” on it or has it had it always not say “FIRE” on it?
