Maybe it’s a smart-sync mechanical horn? IDK

It's the same thing as a 4903-9219, except the strobe flashes at a slow rate (24 flashes per minute).

I know this because I remember seeing this model number listed in the manual that came with my 4901-9805.

I really don't see the point of an "ADA" strobe that flashes 24 times per second, since the ADA itself has always required a minimum flash rate of 60 flashes per second. This is about as useful as a syncable translucent strobe. Don't know what was Simplex thinking when they made these.

I have two of these, they do indeed sync. I believe that this is what they were intended for, for early sync systems.

I didn't even know that there was a such horn as a 4903-9200. I know there is a 4903-9220 but not a 4903-9200. The more you know.

I've always been confused about why sixth-generation signals (see: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9593), made after the ADA was passed, often have flaws like this - i.e. non-syncable and low flash rates.

Though I will say that the nominal flash rate is not always the actual flash rate. The 4904-9501 is rated for a low flash rate, but usually flashes faster than 1 Hz.
