NYC FIre Alarm

Anyone here familiar with NYC fire alarm codes? Thanks

I know a common thing that they do is that they put a white stripe with a red background over the pull station or behind the pull station so that it’s easier to identify. Not sure why they do that or if it’s actually over the code.

Also, all exit signs have to be red, and newer ones have to meet certain design requirements. In areas of assembly and where applicable, the ISO exit sign may be used to mark emergency exits.

The white stripe means that the fire alarm system calls the fire department when activated.
