Smoke Dampers

Do all FSD’s have a smoke duct detector associated with them? Thank you.

Do you mean Dampers for like vents in hallways? If so, those are non electrical, they use fusible links to hold a screen or flaps, which close when the links melt.

No, motorized fsd’s.

No, not all

Motorized can be tied to either a specific smoke detector (using conventional relays or addressable mapping depending on the system) or can activate on a general fire alarm event.

Sometimes too, they are tied to relay basis on 120VAC local smoke detectors, rather than as part of the Fire Alarm system.

Thanks all. Much appreciated.
