Smoke alarms chirping in the middle of the night.

If people change the batteries in their smoke alarms regularly, they are unlikely to wake up to midnight smoke alarm chirps.

Most people are lazy and would just rip the detector off the ceiling and take the battery out. Which is a bad idea.

Yes, this is a bad idea. If the smoke alarm starts chirping in the middle of the night people might not have a battery to replace the current battery and they can’t really go out to the store in the middle of the night for a battery because few stores are open. This is why it is best for people to change the smoke alarm batteries regularly. If they do so, and the smoke alarm is functioning properly, they won’t get woken up to a chirping smoke alarm.

I got nest protect, no more chirping for me :stuck_out_tongue:

Is that the smoke detector that is connected over Wi-Fi? What happens if there is a Wi-Fi outage?
