I have a simplex 4903-9418 from 2000 and I really can’t hear a difference with the sound except the slight difference in the pitch, but I’m going to go with true.

I’m talking about an Edwards QuickStart panel. And yes, it is true. The models with the buzzers were in The very early versions of development, and only a few were released to use in service.
