Need horn for First Alert smoke alarm

Hi - This is my first post here, although I’ve been a reader for a few years. I have a 1991 First Alert smoke alarm that I accidentally butchered the horn on (I’ll save the story, unless someone wants to hear it  ). Would anyone have a dead smoke alarm PCB with a horn like below that they could possibly send me so I can transplant the horn into mine? I’m located in Canada.

Thanks!

Finally we have another female fire alarm and smoke alarm enthusiast here. Simplex 4051 was for long the only one.

Oh cool! Thank you for the welcome

Tell me the story

I wanted to poke around the circuit with an oscilloscope to see what various signals looked like under idle and alarm conditions, so I reached up under the horn casing and bent one of the contact fingers down to disconnect the horn from power, so it wasn’t blaring while in the alarm condition.

I figured I could just bend the finger back when I was done, but that turned out to be wrong. So I figured I could solder the finger back onto the piezo element, and that turned out to be wrong too. So now, with two of the three fingers making contact with the piezo element, it just makes a weak squeaking noise.

I was hoping someone here would have either a horn by itself or a dead PCB with a good horn on it that they could send me, but that’s not looking very hopeful right now. I really regret doing it to start with, because I got the alarm brand new in the box just a couple of weeks ago, and it’s an uncommon first-generation Escape Light model.
