Simplex 6400 wireing question

I have a Simplex 6400 and I am trying to learn how to wire it. I have the users manual but I am still at a loss on how to get it to turn on a bell or light or anything.
any help would be great-full. I am just about ready to junk it

youtube video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcVwatko3I8

I would suggest looking around google for diagrams of a basic electrical circuit. Primarily that involving a single pole light switch.

Take a look, see what you can learn from that and see if you can gain a bit of background on it. I think you will find that will answer your question.

If not, come back with what you DO know, and we can move forward from there.

Thank you for the reply. I can power it up but that is all I can do so far.

I will do more looking

Thanks again!

Just to be certain…

This is the book you have?

If you read through the diagrams AND understand how something like a light switch works. You should be able to wire it based off the two pieces of information.

You are basically wiring a bell or light to a neutral and switched hot. It’s pretty simple stuff so do not be worried to much, you will get it.

I am still at a loose on how to get it wired up. I took a pic of what I have. I might not have a clue on the system that is sitting next to me. I did take a pic of were the wires go on it.
