I have 4 two wire smoke detectors.
They are Cerberus pyrotronics PE-11 photoelectric detectors. Is there any possible way to wire a power supply to a 2 wire smoke, then to a notification appliance in a way that when the smoke senses…well,smoke, it passes the current through (acts like a switch or pull station) to the notification appliances? If anyone can show a diagram or tell me if this is even possible, that would be great.
Unfortunately, attempting this setup will not work. While this would almost certainly damage any two-wire detector, the PE-11 series is especially sensitive to voltage or current irregularities.
You’re better off selling the PE-11s in order to purchase a suitable 4-wire detector for what you are trying to accomplish.
Yeah you need a 4 wire detector to do this. You can use something like a 4W-B i3 or something like I used on my old demo system, but like Nick said, unfortunately you can’t use two wire smokes this way on a power supply system.
