Break Rods in 270-SPO Stations

Does anyone have the ability to find out the diameter of the 270-SPO break rod?I’m thinking about 3D printing some so I can see how they are versus glass ones, but I need to know the diameter and my own was DOA. (I also can’t find any info online. RIP.)

I couldn’t give you a diameter but I know that if you take an empty plastic ink tube out of a regular Pilot ballpoint pen and snip the tube to the right size, it will fit the slot for the break rod in 270-SPO stations. It even works on the newer 278 SIGA dual-action plastic stations. Andrew has a video on it somewhere. If you can find the diameter of one of these little tubes you can be relatively confident that it will fit.

By my calipers, it is 3.9 mm diameter by 55.6 mm length. You could probably give or take a millimeter, but that’s what it is.

Yeah, but I’m making CAD designs for 3D printed alternatives to the glass ones.

Googled and found this on Grainger:

I love Grainger

Woah… looks at Grainger page …A Kidde 270-SPO?? Mind. Blown.

Years ago all pull stations on a floor could be on a single zone thus the break rod.
