I acquired a Federal Signal Autocall panel that looks very similar to a 2001. Before it was removed, all of the internal wires were removed on the card cage. Does anyone have a manual or wiring diagram to get it going? It's a simple panel with the controller card, two zone cards, and a signal circuit card.

A model number from the system or a picture of the panel would help people identify the system.

Best I can tell from searching, it's an MDK-2. I still haven't found any information on it. Each module has 10 terminals associated on the top terminal strip. On the 2 zone cards, terminals 1-2 and 3-4 have 24v. If I knew what eol resistor it wanted, it would help.

I may have found a few grains of truth for you. Searching for MDK-2 turned up this information. Two sources say the EOLR value is 3.16K, which is a standard 1% resistor value. The closest standard 5% resistors are 3K and 3.3K. A reverse calculator came up with 3300 ohms and 75000 ohms in parallel for 3.16K. The SD compatibility chart also has the zone module model number which could be a cross check.

This information is on this forum.

Need help!!!! Autocall mdk-2
« on: May 01, 2013, 12:00:34 AM »
I need an installation manual or a schematic for an autocall mdk-2. I have searched high and low, called other dealers and have had no luck, getting any info.

I don't have a manual for this panel but the termination for the input cards is 1&2 first zone, 3$4 second zone on the card . The eol resistors are 3.16K.

I found this compatibility chart for Apollo smoke detectors.

STR-SG is correct. The eol resistor is a 3.1K. I have a md/2K manual.

Could I get a copy? I've just been guessing at the terminals so far.

Sure. I'll scan it tomorrow then figure out how best to get it to you. I probably have some parts too.

Hoping I'm not too late to the party.

The company I work for just reacquired one of our old buildings, and it has one of these still installed & in use.

Would either of you be able to send me a copy of that manual please? I'd be very appreciative if you do!
