On February 19, 2014, IIRC, when at Springfield Village Pizza (Springfield, Vermont) the Wheelock 7002T was gone and there was an Exceder instead! I was like, shoot!
And now the school I went to for preschool, which had a similar system, got upgraded too! I don’t remember it that much, and I recall it never went off when I was there. I just know the building had a Simplex 4208 fire alarm system with 4051+4050-80 horn/lights (installed the old way, where the horn’s edge lines up with the light plate) and break-glass 4251-30 pulls, installed in 1974 (the building was originally built in 1916 as part of the original high school; now it’s a charter and alternative school.)
Now they have a cheap run-of-the-mill Fire-Lite system, with an ANN-80 annunciator slapped onto the old Simplex annunciator, and SpectrAlert Advance horn/strobes…
(Sorry for the bad picture.)
If this keeps up, in five years there will be no Simplex 4050-80s left in Brockton! (except the one in my collection)
