That’s what I thought; that the CH70 was simply an E70 attached to a chime tone generator. That’s still not the same as a vocal sounder able to say several different voice messages though.
Yeah, there’s multiple reasons why such devices would never be used in US installations (those problems make it seem surprising that anyone else uses them).
