Yeah, yeah, I got that, no need to reiterate it. Sometimes I just don’t get why companies treat arguably-unimportant things like nuclear launch codes though.
Yeah…

Well, what matters is that my copies are safe from their associated master recordings eventually being deleted too, even if the community may never get to hear them as of now.
Unfortunately I am currently missing 10 female messages (two of them were in Spanish), which is why I contacted them for one last time in August, just to get that dreaded email about the new policy, even though I still have most of the messages in the female collection.
On the bright side, it appears that none of the male messages are missing (not counting older master recordings they already deleted years ago), so I have rescued every single one!
Except for the GE ANS (Fire Emergency, All Clear), and the older male “All Clear” and the slightly older female message from some Pre-Potter EVAX panels.
Potter is starting to become the cousin of Gamewell with that policy except potter is more strict. I’m not really a fan of potter anyway so it’s their loss. However Is it a guarantee Notifier will be like EST and say “If you have a VROM you can just extract the audio from it with an EEPROM”? Because something deep in my head is telling me they have them on a software somewhere but it’s hidden audio.
Yeah: right up there with Simplex & Siemens on the list of proprietaryness.
Yeah, same here: I have standards that say never give money to a company engaged in that amount of proprietaryness, which is why my first choice is Edwards instead.
Maybe? Their messages & tones seem to be difficult to come by in general (probably because of how semi-proprietary even their non-INSPIRE panels may be).
I just Emailed notifier but I don’t even know if I emailed the right department. I emailed the tech support department but it’s a bot that responded.
I don’t have that message with the script that says “Stop operations” However I did hear it on an EST3 voice evac system with a 520hz tone.
Do you happen to have any video or audio for reference?
No, The school recently had a statewide phone policy put into law. I did record it last year but the video is obsolete so I can’t send it. I do have the raw audio for the 520hz Temporal 3 though.
Oh, but are you referring to “cease operations”, the one with EST Guy, not EVAX guy?
I’m positive it was the evax guy. I’m guessing the school district requires it as a custom message since it was played at the high school and is played at an elementary school. The only recording I had was at the high school. I did visit the elementary school a few years ago back in 2020-2021. Also oddly enough certain times of the year at the high school it plays a message with the script “This is a default pre-announcement” on loop. Do you happen to have a google drive with the ANS25 messages though? Don’t have to link it, just share it.
Sorry, I don’t have those old ANS25 messages, only way to obtain them is to buy an old unit and either extract the EEPROM or capture the panel’s live audio feed.
I believe there are two GE ANS panels on eBay right now, but they ain’t cheap.
So just the EVAX messages then?
Yeah: next-best option outside of the raw files I’m sure.
Yes, just EVAX files (from EVAX Tech Support, and Edwards ANS).
Even then, I guess I can show you the file names or scripts if you want.
But I’d like to ask one thing, do you have any recording of “This is a default pre-announcement”, never heard that before, and I don’t know if that’s ever been featured on any EVAX panel before.
No I don’t, I think it’s a custom message that was pre-recorded by someone using the microphone on the EST3. I know that message wasn’t recorded by the evax guy judging by the voice of the message using that script. And would you be able to privately share the files to me? I don’t plan on distributing them to the public.
I mean no offense or hard feelings towards you, but I would prefer not to share the EVAX files for the time being as they are even more confidential now after the new policy.
If you want them, you could try contacting Edwards Signaling (or try Fire Safety) for their ANS files, though I cannot guarantee you will get a response.
I know about the policy wouldn’t there be an exception you could make though?
Sorry, I choose not to for the time being.
Before the policy, I maybe would have let you listened to the male version of the default message or a small set of files, but I don’t want to do that right now after this.
Bumping this for a January 2026 update. I’ve refined the disclaimer in the original post to reflect the current 2026 status of EVAX/Potter files and corrected some legacy facts regarding the GE ANS systems (2006-2013).
Was looking through my own stuff just out of curiosity and found the EST “Attention, Attention! An emergency has been reported in this building. Please cease operations and leave the building, utilizing the nearest exit, or fire exit stairway. Do not use elevators, repeat, do not use elevators.” message. The file date inside the zip 1999. No idea if these were ever used on the ANS, but all of them are male. I can probably get the latest Edwards ANS messages, but I’m guessing they’re going to be the same.
I also ran across a bunch of old wheelock safepath messages and they’re a mix of male/female.
