i got the 12 volt one in my early days of collecting because my homemade panel outputted 12 volts and i got the 24 volt one for christmas
Hopefully they don’t get in an argument, or they will begin screaming at each other…
And that screaming will have a lot of stuttering like “AAAAAAAAAAAhAAAAAAAAAAAhAAAAAAAAAAA!”
A while ago we had one stuck in cement posted in fails which was quite funny, and now we have rednecks which is even funnier.
What? How the heck did that happen?
I found it outside of a building in Colorado, and there was a second one but I couldn’t take a picture of it because I had to stay with my parents. Well, technically it was inside the building because it was in the wall but it was found on the exterior
I had almost confused that for a rare white version ngl.
Is that a red 7000T 7002T that weathered away so badly that it is now white?
Oh, okay: I honestly thought that you were talking about one that had somehow fallen into a patch of wet concrete on a sidewalk or something, heh.
Yep: it sure is a 7002T that’s had way too much sun exposure (& was then concreted partially inside a brick wall too no less), heh.
That’s a lot of things all because companies just don’t give a crap about making stuff with actual quality nowdays (also as many a technician who’s come across a 4207 or 4208 can tell you that “built to last” thing goes back way further than the 90s).
Take my HS as an example, it still has the original 1972 Simplex 4247-2SU going strong in 2026. they really made the older stuff to last the entire life of the building. same thing can be said for appliances and cars
because older ones were probably mostly metal
That & actual care & quality put into their design & manufacture as I said.
I definitely consider it a darn shame anytime life safety devices are unceremoniously junked instead of getting to enjoy the respected retirement they deserve in the hands of a collector or museum, but I’m not sure I go that far just the same, heh.
