System is a Fire Lite addressable system, most likely an MS-9200UDLS. NAs are system sensor Advance HSs for the most part, but there are a few L series devices as well. There is also an edwards adaptahorn as well. Also, in one of these pics there is an advance wall mount on the ceiling, remember that those can be technically mounted on either wall or ceiling.
I thought the system sensor advance strobe was rated for wall mount
So I may or may not have talked about this system before, but this is at the event center in my city. The system is an EST3 voice evac. The NAs are Integrity SPSTs. The detectors are 1st gen SIGA.
On some of the devices, you can see that the fire lettering has completely faded.
From what I remember, it is rated for both.
Iirc, both are technically rated for both. Ideally, you mount the wall mount one on the wall, and the ceiling mount one on the ceiling for correct fire lettering orientation
I don’ know what the first two are but the others are a Gentex commander (can’t tell which one it is), a Wheelock AS, and a National Time and Signal fire alarm (possibly a 512 according to someone on these forums). There are also Gentex Gx90s and SHG-24’s as well as Wheelock exceders in the newer parts of the building. This is all at my travel school.
Nice vintage fire alarm devices
The first alarm is a Wheelock MT4-24-LSM, while the second appears to be a Simplex 4000-series mechanical horn (most likely a 4051 or 4050 as the 4040 has a a circular disk in the middle of the diaphragm (which that horn lacks) & the 4041’s diaphragm is silver (though going by the rest of the signals it’s probably a 24VDC 4051). As for the Commander, given the lack of a hole for the candela setting, it’s likely a Commander 2, which is the same as a Commander 3 but fixed-candela (though I think newer Commander 2s have candela windows).
If you look closely, the trim plate was put on upside down. The candela window could be on the other side. Also it’s a bit of a mounting fail being on the ceiling.
Oh yeah, didn’t notice that, good catch. Funnily enough that’s the second time I’ve seen that happen (this time I suppose it’s somewhat more excusable since the device is on the ceiling, but not on the other one I saw, which was on the wall & thus it should have been obvious which way the trim plate was supposed to go going by the lettering on the sides).
Oh yeah: a Commander 4 would have been more appropriate (mounted in a weatherproof enclosure if possible of course, since the existing one isn’t (another fail).
Lol! I just noticed that! I knew that it was put on the ceiling (and outdoors no less), but I didn’t know that the trimplate was put on incorrectly untill now. This would definitely fit in my fire alarm fails topic!
My high school in Methuen, Massachusetts has Simplex appliances. They have Simplex TrueAlert 4906-9154 in majority of the building. There are also some Simplex TrueAlert wall mount speaker strobes, wall mount TrueAlert remote strobes, Simplex T-Bars, Simplex TrueAlarm smokes and ducts, and ceiling mounted Simplex remote strobes (possibly 4903s). The Gymnasium has System Sensor Spectralert Advanced Speaker Strobes which are part of the Simplex system. They also have unknown T-Bars with “Lift Up, pull down” thingies on them. The two main entrances have Simplex annunciators and both have a Simplex remote microphone station next to them (secured behind glass cover). System is a Simplex voice evac system. Potentially a 4100u/es/+. Also, the voice evac is set to code 3 and short female voice message (linked a video to it below). One more thing they have is an EST/Edwards Integrity horn strobe with a yellow lens and below it is a station that says “Chiller Stop. Break Lens and Push Button”(or something like that). It might go off when station is activated. So yeah! That’s my school fire alarm system
Found this Faraday/Siemens 2700 strobe in a mall (More specifically, the Fair Oaks mall in Fairfax, Virginia.). I love these old Faraday/Siemens strobes because they are from the 90’s but have a vintage look.
Omg those bring me back to elementary school witch was full of those
Quality Inn hotel in Lincoln. System is unknown, used to be simplex I’m guessing. Pulls are spectronics branded Siemens/Cerebus Pyrotronics in the newer area, and simplex T-bars on the older area. NAs are something from Space Age Electronics.
Some more pics. We have a spectronics branded 7001? And one of those Siemens Pulls that I was talking about.
That would be a Spectronics rebranded 7002/t.
Holy crap: heck of a find right there! I’ve only seen that signal in a brochure that someone was lucky enough to find. I forget the name of the device but I know I’ve seen them before. If possible you oughta try to save them as those are the only ones in existence that I’m aware of.
I don’t live in Lincoln tho. I’m at this hotel for a family gathering.
